The Gods and Symbols of Ancient Egypt By Manfred Lurker

First of all, this is dictionary style, so I wasn’t surprised it became a slow read for me. It has plenty of info, and pictures and illustrations of some of the things and beings listed (Some on the page before or after, depending on space needed) and plenty of side notes and cross-referencing, but the author tends to pile everything into one entry. Ancient Egypt had many deities called ‘Horus’ for example, but for the entry ‘Horus’ they’re all kinda smashed together into one general being. Wasn’t too fond of that personally, but it is in dictionary style, it’s not a full-on dictionary where you get ‘Horus, Son of Isis’ and ‘Horus, The Elder’ separated into subcategories of the same entry for example.
